Halloween Movie List: OMG The Cabin In The Woods

Ok usually a group of friends going to some cabin in the woods in the middle of nowhere leads to serial killers, flesh eating diseases or zombies.  In this case, dont judge a book by its cover.
The Cabin In The Woods is the most original scare film I’ve seen in a while.

Now Ive been waiting for this movie to finally come out and oh my fucking god! Its just beautiful, the story was phenomenal!  Whoever wrote it up is a fucking genius! The zombies wielding weapons were sweet, it made them more terrifying. I thought for sure when that girl was making out with that wolf head that it was going to start snapping at her face lol.
The fact that the “Fool” of the group was able to survive with the “Virgin” is crazy. The ending of it all was really a wtf moment, it seems that all at the same times humans began to not fear the monsters they were facing. Thus leading to no blood being spilled and evil gods rising from underground to end the world. I especially loved how these locations around the world all had the same thing going on. The Tokyo location was so funny, with the little asian girls freeing the evil ghost was a classic. When they found there way down to the control room with all those “mythical” monsters, I was sooooo into it. I knew all along that Unicorns were evil, and the Left For Dead Boomer was great! This movie will always be on my Halloween Movie List. If you have not seen it you must! It comes out on DVD Sept. 26 though some Cable providers have for early viewing. WATCH IT, for you will not be disappointed!

Soulcalibur’s Saving Grace “SoulCalibur VI”

Soulcalibur, a fighting game from Project Soul published by Namco has had its many ups and downs. With the last installment to the series (SCV) it looks like Namco has forgotten how precious this series is to thier company.  SoulCalibur has always been different due to the very robust women and sword play the games brings.
SC till SCIV has stayed true to the series, without kicking beloved characters to the curb, and drastically changing gameplay. SCV changed everything, loved characters  Cassandra, Sophitia, Taki, Setsuka, Amy(Who is said to be newbie Viola), Talim, Rock, Yun-Seong, Seong Mi-Na, Xianghua and Zasalamel were removed from the roster with cheap or no replacements whatsoever.

Cassandra- Potroklos is said to resemble her fighting style

Sophitia- Pyrrah Omega’s resembles her style quite alot with more aggressive attacks.

Taki- replaced with Natsu who seems quicker.

Setsuka- replaced with Alpha Patroklos, but his style is a cheap copy of it.

Amy- one of my personal favorites was completely removed with no replacement. Its said newcomer Viola is actually Amy because of her physical appearance. Why dont you look at the similarities yourself, keep in mind SCIV(4) is set 15 years before SCV(5)

Viola SCV

Talim- No replacement

Rock- No replacement

Yun Seong- No replacement

Seong Mi-Na- Its said newcomer Xiba has some of Mi-Na and Yun moves but I haven’t seen it.

Xianghua- Daughter Leixia replaced her

Zasalamel- Sadly no replacement.

SCV was indeed a massive blow for the series. GI or Guard Impact was taken apart and made easier for new players to use. Though it made it annoying for veteran players to use. Character movesets were dumbed down. Stances were removed and some attacks dont even link together as in previous games. The character Ivy for example had her whip state and stance removed.

SoulCalibur VI

If anyone from Project Soul or Namco is reading this, please read carefully.

1- Bring back fan  favorites. I understand getting rid of clones like Rock, Mi-Na, and Cassandra but how about original characters like Zasalamel?

2- Repair GI, Guard Impact was meant for players that new how to use its properties. Removing how it use to work takes the fun out of a good match.

3-MORE single player modes. SC3 Is a great example of this. Revamp tje old Chronicles modeand you have it made.

4-Give characters their moves, stances, we have all come to love.

5- FINISH! Give us a finished story. We had characters in SCV that had no ending. It was a great story mode but the stories that were left unwritten really destroyed it.

So please Project Soul I beg you, make one more and this time complete something that we will all enjoy as a fanbase. Not just Tourney players.

Thank You.

My September 11th

My September 11th…..

It was a beautiful sunday morning, It was only a few days into school the school year, and my first days of fourth grade. My class had started an earth science project and we paired up to study different rocks. As we picked up the first few rocks my lab partner and I were startled by our computer teacher running into our class room yelling “The Twin Towers has just collapsed.” It did’nt quite hit me, I wouldnt grasp onto what was happening until a few hours later.

All of my classmates ran to the windows and we could see smoke in the distance and people talking on thier cell phones below. My fourth grade teacher Mrs. Candelaria ran into the class room telling us to get away from the windows and sit in our seats. Her face was red, it wasnt anger but extreme sadness like if she was already crying. Little by little all of my friends started getting picked up by their parents then my father came for me. He already had my brother and I looked at his face which was completley frozen.

We started to walk home and I continued to ask my dad what happened but he just replied “Mom will tell you when we get home.” We walked about 5 blocks with fire engines, police cars, and ambulances zooming by us. As we walked up the stairs to our apartment my mother opened the door. “What are you guys doing home?” She didn’t know anything either, our television was out because we had no cable at the time. My dad teary eyed told her “We were bomed, we were attacked, the Twin Towers are gone.” My mom stood ahe nd laughed “What are you tlking about? The win Towers cant come down, there the tallest buildings. No one can knock them down” My dad walked to the living room and told her “No…..there gone, I watched the planes go into them. I saw them fall.”

My mother didnt believe him so he went and turned on his radio. The screams that echoed on our speakers trembled my body. My mother holding my baby sister fell onto the couch holding her head. She nearly fainted. Our downstairs neighbor Marie knocked on our door. my mom answered and Marie asked her if we were ok. My mom proceeded to ask her if it was possible to go down to her apartment to watch the news because she had cable. We all went down stairs I brought my cat beacuse I thought the world was actually ending. We all watched wide eyed as they replayed the planes hitting the towers. I didn’t know what to do, I was scared of what was happening. The days after I would have nightmares of planes being rammed down into the block I lived on.

Today I live in Pennsylvania, now 20 years old, out of highschool, going into college, I can still recall every moment of that day. September 11th 2001 was my nightmare it was an event that will live on in our memories. My 2 baby sisters now 12 and 2 dont really know anything about it, and its up to us the older generation to remind the younger generation of what happened.

I wonder if there is a billion ou there that can spare about $400,000. That would be excellent!  You see many people just have a shitload of money and do nothing but keep it to themselves without thinking of how much others need it. My family is going through some pretty hard times but I know there are families going through way worse. I dream of being able to help millions of homeless families in my future. I WILL NEVER become a money hungry bastard that only dreams of making more, taking more, and giving never. I wish I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. LIFE would be sooo much easier.

Horror has definitely come a long way, but the value of it is definitely going way down. As a child horror movies were part of my everyday life and still are, but the quality of the amount of work put into the production has decreased. I remember being a kid and having nightmares of “I Know What You Did Last Summer”. Though there was one movie in particular that got me for life.

“SCREAM” yes Scream, the movie that remade the horror genre. I actually didnt meet the Scream Franchise until “SCREAM 3”. While with my family pushing a cart into an old “BJ’s” store in Jersey the display case for Scream 3 caught my attention. I asked my mother to get it and she seemed reluctant at first but then declared it movie night and threw it into the cart.

SCREAM 2 Trailer

I was never so happy to see a movie. Watching “Scream 3” introduced me to the art of horror and of course Neve Campbell. I was hooked on the series since then, I made it my mission to watch the previous parts leading to part 3 and I eventually did.

SCREAM 3 Trailer

While growing up every opportunity I had to watch any of the parts I did. Then my sophomore year of high school rolled by and i decided to search up “SCREAM 4”. I jumped with excitement (while in biology class) as I read that Scream 4 was being written. I followed any info on it like a hawk. Then the day finally came, “SCRE4M” hit theaters and I couldnt be more excited. I was supposed to see it in theaters with a couple of friends but it disnt turn out to well. They felt Scream 4 wouldnt be entertaining. “The scream movies suck” as they would say. SCREAM 4 was awesome, I watched it well over 100 times in less then a month.
Then the worst happened, my CPU decided tl crash, thus losing my Scream 4 download. Today I continue to watch Scream and Scream 2, watching and listening for the words “SCREAM 5 in production”.

Life Among The Living

Have you ever gotten that feeling of “Who am I? Where did I come from?” When you know exactly who you are and where you came from. Its not the feeling of loosing your memory, but the feeling of almost knowing something about yourself but not knowing exactly what it is. I have that feeling at the strangest times. I could be hanging out with friends or just by myself,  and suddenly I will zone out and I feel like Im the only person in the world that is actually a person. I end up asking myself “why am I here?” “What am I supposed to do?” Its a really creepy and uneasy feeling, and I will zone back into “reality” basically and continue on with whatever I was doing.
I feel like there is something we all have inside of us that connects to what we were in our past life. (If you believe in it, I know I do.) I feel as a person that I am meant to do something with my life, I feel like im not even among other humans at times. As of Im the only one breathing the air, maybe I am meant for something, the question is what. If you have ever had this kind of feeling please let me know so I am not the only one. (I know i cant be the only one.)
